Thank you to Eric’s parents for raising a son who was so brave. The pictures of him touched my heart. My love to his mother and dad, I cannot imagine their pain. We have a son who is in the Marines right now, 10 months to go and then he is out. He toured in Iraq, Pakistan and Austria, now he is in South Africa. God Bless all of our men and women serving their country. May our leaders lead them in the right direction.

I can’t stress enough my sorrow for your loss and that of our nation. Your son has earned his spot in heaven doing what we Marines do best…keeping our loved ones safe. My heart swells with pride as I read the CNN story of your family and the selfless acts you all have carried out in the wake of a tragedy. I’ll be talking with my wife tonight about what we can do to support your cause. Semper Fi!

This was a wonderful article about your son Bobby. I have a son in law who is in the service. I will think of your son on April 10th and honor him with a moment of silence. Words cannot express how grateful we are to your son and those who risk their lives for our Nation. God Bless and just know that your story has touched others far away. I find in admirable that you would want to carry on his duty. Good luck. We will be chearing you on!! Tricia .. Boston , Ma

Mr. and Mrs. Samme,
I would like to say “Thank You” for honoring the memory of your son and helping out his fellow soldiers. I am a female Veteran and I currently have a son in Basic Training. I have contemplated about the day he might be sent to fight and I am saddened for your loss. Your son was a very special man – he served his country and thats an honor all in itself.

I attended Armwood High School with Eric, and although I didn’t know him all that well, he seemed to always be laughing and having a good time. He was a center of influence amoung his friends and community, and he is missed.
